Don’t Miss the REAL Cherry Blossom Road in Seoul Forest (Hidden Path & Google Maps)

A cozy picnic setting with flowers and a lunchbox under the cherry trees.

Today, every colleague I ran into after lunch said the exact same thing: “The weather is absolutely amazing today!” On my drive to work this morning, I also found myself thinking, “What a sparkling, beautiful spring day.” Both sides of the road were bursting with spring trees and flowers in full bloom. It means the most beautiful season has officially returned to Seoul Forest!

The Secret Cherry Blossom Tunnel in Seoul Forest: A Local’s Hidden Gem

During spring and autumn, Seoul Forest is packed with visitors arriving by tour buses, and these days, many international travelers are discovering this beautiful park too. Whenever I see tourists taking photos of each other on the walking paths, I love to approach them and offer to take a group photo so they can all be in the frame together!

However, because Seoul Forest is quite massive, many people only enjoy the cherry blossom trees right at the entrance and leave without seeing the real magic. It breaks my heart a little!

While the lush green trees are always stunning, there is a completely different, breathtaking feeling when walking through a “Cherry Blossom Tunnel” that only lasts for a fleeting moment in April. I want to share the exact Google Maps location so you don’t miss it!

Quick Travel Tip for April 2026

Right now, the entrance area of Seoul Forest is partially restricted until the end of April as the city prepares for the International Garden Expo coming in May 2026. Please do not panic when you see the construction sites! The actual cherry blossom path is completely separate from this project and open for you to enjoy.

Follow my guide to find the secret cherry blossom road that even many locals don’t know about!

How to Find the Secret Cherry Blossom Tunnel

To find the perfect “Cherry Blossom Tunnel,” you need to head deeper into the park rather than staying near the main entrance. Here is the exact route:

  • The Location: Search for “Seoul Forest Park Cherry Tree Path” or head toward the “Eco Forest” section on Google Maps.
  • The Route: Enter the park and walk past the Cultural Art Park and the insect garden. Follow the unpaved walking trail that stretches toward the Eco Forest.

Enjoy the Cherry Blossom Tunnel

While the view from the overhead footbridge is the most famous, try walking on the dirt path directly underneath it as well. Looking up at the sky framed by towering cherry branches creates a stunning, graphic photo that makes the sky look even bluer!

Seoul Forest is one of the most beloved spots in the city. To experience the tunnel in total peace and get those clean, tourist-free photos, try to arrive in the early morning hours on a weekday!

If you walk all the way through the cherry blossom path, you can use the pedestrian overpass to connect directly to the Han River walking trails. It’s the perfect way to extend your spring stroll with a cool river breeze!

The Perfect Spring Finale: From Petals to Palates

I am absolutely in love with this cherry blossom season. There is truly nothing that opens up your heart and makes you feel more wonderfully giddy than capturing the bright blue sky and the fluffy pink blossoms all in one single camera frame.

However, after exploring the massive grounds of Seoul Forest and snapping hundreds of photos, doesn’t your stomach start to rumble just a little bit? Haha.

Alternative Picn ic Spots: Where to Unwind Right Now

Normally, many people love to spread out picnic mats on the large central lawn of Seoul Forest and enjoy light snacks. Unfortunately, because the area is currently under construction for the upcoming International Garden Expo, we can’t use this space right now, which is a bit of a bummer!

But don’t be too disappointed! This central lawn will be fully open and more beautiful than ever starting in May 2026.

In the meantime, if you still want to experience a classic Korean park picnic, I have good news for you. If you walk all the way to the end of the secret cherry blossom path we just talked about, you will find plenty of wooden decks and open spaces where you can easily spread out your mats and relax. You can still enjoy your snacks surrounded by spring vibes!

Takeout Ideas for the Perfect Picnic

Before entering Seoul Forest, it’s a great idea to buy some food to enjoy on your picnic mat. You can easily pick up classic picnic foods like Gimbap, Korean fried chicken, or pizza from the many restaurants around the park.

If you want something a bit more refreshing and clean, doing what we did and getting some take-out sushi is another fantastic, mess-free option! Here are a few great picnic food spots located very close to Seoul Forest that you can easily find on Google Maps:

Level Up Your Picnic: Rental Services in Seongsu

If you are traveling and don’t have a picnic mat or cute baskets with you, don’t worry at all! There are specialized rental shops in the Seongsu area that provide complete “Picnic Sets.”

These sets usually include a pretty checkered mat, a wooden picnic basket, artificial flowers for photos, and sometimes even small wooden tables and Bluetooth speakers. Renting these will instantly level up your picnic aesthetic and give you those perfect photos!

Spring is Everywhere: Finding Joy in the Little Things

Even if you don’t go to Seoul Forest, Seoul in April is a city filled with beautiful cherry blossoms around almost every corner.

When you are walking through the narrow alleys and streets of Seoul, try to slow down just a little bit and look around with a relaxed mind. You will easily find stunning cherry blossom trees greeting you when you least expect it! Take a full breath and fill your eyes with this fleeting pink spring.

As for me? I’m currently enjoying the cherry blossoms right here at McDonald’s! Haha. Sitting by the window with a burger and a view of the blooming trees is my ultimate way of enjoying a relaxing spring afternoon.

Spring in Seoul is beautiful, but it is also incredibly short. These delicate pink petals will soon blow away with the wind, making this moment even more precious.

So, let’s all slow down, take a deep breath, and enjoy this beautiful, short-lived season together!

Bye for now, and have a wonderfully sparkling spring day!
