A Slice of Comfort: Finding the Best Pizza in Seongsu-dong

When you travel to Seoul, you don’t necessarily have to stick to Korean food for every meal. Sometimes, your palate craves the familiar taste of home, or perhaps the bold spices of local cuisine just aren’t hitting the spot.

Especially for families traveling with young children, a cheesy, delicious pizza can be a real lifesaver to keep everyone happy and satisfied!

Whether you’re looking for a taste of home or a kid-friendly meal that’s guaranteed to be a hit, I’ve curated a list of the best pizza spots in Seongsu-dong. Let’s dive into the world of crispy crusts and gooey cheese in Seoul’s trendiest neighborhood! ^^

Why Every Traveler Needs a “Taste of Home” – Even in Seoul

Last weekend, I took a trip to Fukuoka, Japan, with my mother. Since Japanese cuisine is quite similar to ours, it’s usually an easy place for Koreans to dine. However, I noticed even my mom started craving Kimchi—which is practically in our blood! ^^

While you can easily find Kimchi in Japanese convenience stores, seeing her miss a proper Korean meal made me realize something important: “Of course! Travelers in Korea must feel the exact same way about their own comfort foods.”

Just as we might crave a spicy bowl of Kimchi stew abroad, I’m sure visitors in Seoul occasionally dream of a perfectly baked pizza. That’s why today, I want to introduce some of the best pizza spots in Seongsu-dong!

The World of Pizza in Seoul: From Classic to K-Style

Pizza varies so much depending on where you are in the world. You have the traditional, thin-crust Italian style, the hearty and loaded American style (like Pizza Hut or Domino’s), and then there’s Korean-style pizza, which has its own unique flair.

In Korea, you’ll find authentic Neapolitan pizzerias, but you’ll also see “K-style” pizzas topped with ingredients you might never expect—like bulgogi, sweet potato mousse, or even corn and potatoes! While I personally lean toward the classics like Margherita or Pepperoni, I find this diversity of toppings to be one of the most exciting parts of the Korean food scene.

Whether you’re a purist or an adventurous foodie, I’ve rounded up 5 must-visit pizza spots in Seongsu-dong that you absolutely shouldn’t miss!

The iconic roasted corn pizza with sweet corn cobs and spicy seasoning at Pipe Ground.

The Star of Seoul Forest: Pipe Ground’s Famous Corn Pizza

If you want to experience the peak of “K-style” creative toppings, look no further than Pipe Ground (파이프 그라운드) near Seoul Forest. While they serve excellent classics, almost everyone comes here for one specific reason: the Red Corn Pizza.

This isn’t just a few kernels of corn scattered on top. We’re talking about thick, whole slices of sweet corn grilled to perfection, laid out generously across the pie. It’s paired with crunchy potato chips and a slightly spicy, creamy red sauce that balances the sweetness of the corn beautifully.

The Ultimate Duo: Red Corn Pizza & White Ragu Pasta

To be honest, everything on the menu here is fantastic, so you really can’t go wrong with any choice. However, whenever I visit, my “default” order is always the Pizza paired with their White Ragu Pasta.

The White Ragu at <Pipe Ground> is a masterpiece—creamy, rich, and packed with savory depth that complements the sweetness of the Corn Pizza perfectly. To elevate the meal even further, I highly recommend adding a glass of wine. The crisp acidity of a well-chosen wine cuts through the richness of the cheese and sauce, creating a “perfect harmony” on your palate. It’s the ultimate way to indulge in the trendy vibes of Seoul Forest! ^^

The Art of Wood-Fired Pizza: Parco Seongsu

If you believe that pizza is only “real” when it’s baked in a wood-fired oven, then Parco (파르코) is your must-visit destination in Seongsu-dong. The flavor profile here is on a completely different level thanks to their traditional stone oven.

The high heat of the wood fire creates a crust that is perfectly charred on the outside—giving it a beautiful smoky aroma—while remaining incredibly soft and chewy on the inside. At <Parco>, they respect the traditional Neapolitan style, focusing on the quality of the dough and the freshness of the ingredients.

The Must-Have Appetizer: Parco’s Mushroom Salad

If you’re visiting <Parco>, you absolutely have to start your meal with their Mushroom Salad. Whenever I go with a friend, our “golden rule” for ordering is one salad and one pizza—plus a refreshing glass of beer, of course! ^^

The mushrooms here have such a rich, meaty texture and deep flavor that I find myself wondering, “Why does it taste so much better here than when I make it at home?”

It’s surprisingly hearty and pairs beautifully with the smoky flavor of their wood-fired pizza. The earthy aroma of the perfectly sautéed mushrooms will have you hooked from the very first bite. It’s not just a side dish; it’s a highlight of the Parco experience!

The Champion’s Choice: Darobe Seongsu

If you’re looking for a place where pizza is the absolute star of the show, Darobe (다로베) is the place to be. This isn’t just any pizzeria; the chef here is a champion of the Napoli Pizza World Championship, and that pride is reflected in every single pie they serve.

Recently, they moved to a new, more spacious location, but their popularity remains as high as ever—so don’t be surprised if there’s a bit of a wait! It’s the kind of place where people are more than willing to line up for a taste of authentic, world-class pizza.

On my latest visit, I stuck to my favorites: a fresh Romaine Salad, a classic Margherita Pizza, and, of course, a refreshing glass of beer. It’s the perfect combination to truly appreciate the high-quality dough and ingredients that made them world champions. ^^

[Insta-worthy & Unique: The Black Dough of Podo Pizza]

While my previous recommendations focused on traditional craftsmanship, Podo Pizza (포도피자) near Seoul Forest is all about visual flair and unique identity. If you’re looking for something “Instagrammable” and a bit out of the ordinary, this is the place to visit!

The most striking feature here is their Black Dough, made with black rice. The dark crust provides a dramatic contrast to the colorful toppings, making every slice a photo opportunity. But the uniqueness doesn’t stop at the pizza—they are also known for their creative side dishes that you won’t easily find at a standard pizzeria.

It might not be the place for a “pizza purist,” but for those who love trendy vibes and want to try something visually stunning and experimental, Podo Pizza offers a fun, modern twist on the Seoul pizza scene!

A Hidden Gem: The Chef’s Table Experience

Lastly, I want to share a place that holds a special spot in my heart. It’s a cozy, one-man restaurant run solely by the chef. I happened to discover it shortly after it opened, and I was blown away—every single dish was impeccable!

If you can, try to grab a seat at the counter. Watching the chef meticulously prepare each ingredient and assemble the dishes right in front of you adds such a wonderful layer of detail to the meal. Because you see the care put into the process, you truly appreciate every subtle note of flavor.

While everything here is delicious, the pizza is a must-try. The moment you order, the chef begins kneading and shaping the dough by hand. I vividly remember being amazed by how perfectly chewy the crust remained; even after the pizza had cooled down in the air-conditioned room, it didn’t lose its fantastic texture. It’s a rare find where passion and skill meet in every bite!

This place is truly a hidden gem that hasn’t been discovered by the masses in Seongsu-dong yet. There is something so special about enjoying a world-class meal in such an intimate, quiet setting. I highly recommend visiting sooner rather than later—before the rest of the world finds out!
