Happy Long Weekend! Kickstarting My Morning with a Cozy Brunch

Hello, everyone! A beautiful long weekend has officially begun here in Seoul, combining the lovely Saturday-Sunday break with Vesak (The Buddha’s Birthday), a meaningful national holiday celebrating the birth of Prince Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism.

On a peaceful, unhurried weekend morning like this, my mind instantly drifts toward thoughts of brunch. Waking up late without an alarm, brewing a warm cup of coffee, and enjoying a slow, delicious meal feels like the ultimate ritual that signals true weekend serenity.

Savoring the Slow Moments: A Travel-Inspired Guide to Seongsu-dong Brunches

Don’t you just love that specific kind of slowness when you’re traveling? That precious, uninterrupted time entirely to yourself, miles away from the frantic pace of daily life.

To bring a piece of that vacation-like tranquility to your weekend, today I want to share my ultimate curated guide to the best brunch spots in 성수동 (Seongsu-dong). To make your planning easier, I’ve broken them down into two of the trendiest neighborhoods: the breezy, nature-infused Seoul Forest Area and the industrial-chic Seongsu Station Area!

The inviting and trendy outdoor terrace seating of Chedda and Oli cafe, located right next to the scenic Seoul Forest park.

Part 1. Right Next to Nature: “CHEDDA & OLI” (Seoul Forest)

Our very first destination is CHEDDA & OLI, a beautiful brunch cafe that offers the absolute closest and most intimate view of Seoul Forest.

Located right on the edge of the park within the Galleria Foret complex, this cafe is highly celebrated for its perfect park-side location and airy, sun-drenched terrace seats. It is an absolute local favorite for its gourmet artisanal paninis, beautifully loaded open-faced sandwiches, and creamy signature lattes.

Imagine sitting on the breezy outdoor terrace, sipping a cold drink, and watching the lush green trees sway in the wind just a few steps away—it is the ultimate definition of a refreshing, picture-perfect weekend morning escape.

Part 2. A Hidden Oasis for Solo Healing: “Mealcafe Oeuf” (서울숲)

Next, we navigate through a narrow, charming alleyway and step up to the second floor to discover Mealcafe Oeuf.

While weekends are lovely, sometimes the most magical brunch moments happen on a Monday. After surviving a hectic, high-energy weekend, there is a distinct comfort in hiding away here during Monday’s lunch break for a quiet hour of solo reflection.

Oeuf (meaning “egg” in French) perfectly crafts that serene sanctuary. The cafe is deeply loved for its vibrant, beautifully styled dishes—such as golden fluffy omelets with rich red tomato sauce, colorful fresh fruit pancakes, and warm homemade soups. The cozy, thoughtful interior, paired with the exquisite medley of colors on your plate, provides a unique sense of visual and culinary healing that instantly recharges your battery for the week ahead.

Part 3. A Symphony of Sweet Flavors: “Seconde Live” (Seoul Forest)

Next up in our Seoul Forest lineup is a paradise for flavor experimenters: Seconde Live (쎄콩데 라이브).

Please note that Seconde operates two distinct spaces in Seongsu-dong with completely different concepts, so make sure to check your map carefully!

To enjoy a relaxing, sit-down meal, you must head to the Seoul Forest Branch. This is an experiential flagship cafe presented by Seconde, a premium Korean artisanal jam brand. Here, you can order beautifully prepared brunch items—like thick, golden French toasts, crispy croiffles, and savory platters—which are served alongside an incredible “live” library of unique homemade jams, rich fruit curds, and savory spreads. You can taste and pair them dynamically with your food!

And here is a pro-traveler tip: If you are wandering around the bustling Yeonmujang-gil (near Seongsu Station) later in the day, look out for their sleek showcase shop. While you can’t eat a meal there, it functions like a trendy mini pop-up boutique dedicated entirely to shopping! It’s the perfect spot to browse their beautifully packaged, miniature jam jars and gift sets, making for the most aesthetic, delicious, and lightweight souvenirs to take home.

Part 4. New York Luxury in Seongsu: “Sadelle’s Seoul” (Seongsu Station)

Now, let’s move a bit further down from Seoul Forest toward the bustling Seongsu Station area to visit a spot that oozes pure New York sophistication: Sadelle’s Seoul.

As many fashion and lifestyle lovers already know, KITH is a globally renowned luxury streetwear brand. When KITH made its grand debut in Seoul about two years ago, it created such an absolute frenzy that I didn’t even dare to stand in those notorious lines at first! But when I finally visited, I was completely blown away. It has easily become my go-to spot when I want to impress and treat important business guests, even though it’s a bit of a walk from my office.

Located on the upper floors of the breathtaking KITH Seoul flagship store, Sadelle’s brings the ultimate, authentic NYC brunch experience straight to the heart of Seongsu.

The absolute crown jewel of their menu is the Salmon Bagel 3-Tier Tray (The Famous Sadelle’s Tower). Stacked beautifully like a high tea set, it features freshly baked, chewy bagels, silky premium smoked salmon, and all the perfect cream cheese and vegetable fixings to custom-build your dream bagel sandwich.

Pair that with their rich, velvety Tomato Soup—which is incredibly comforting and deeply savory—and you will instantly feel like you’ve been transported to a chic Manhattan bistro. It is the ultimate reward after a successful luxury shopping spree downstairs!

Part 5. A Cozy European Escape: “OATT” (Seongsu Station Area)

If Sadelle’s represents sleek, urban sophistication, OATT Seongs transports you straight to a peaceful, rustic village in Europe.

he magic begins before you even step inside. You are greeted at the entrance by a beautifully manicured rose garden that instantly sets a dreamy, welcoming mood. To my surprise, this hidden gem is already an absolute favorite among global travelers! Walking in, it felt like a perfect 50/50 mix of locals and tourists—or honestly, maybe even more foreigners. Everyone seems to be so quick with their travel intel nowadays!

The interior of OATT feels like a sunlit, warm European cottage, filled with soft wooden accents, vintage touches, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Their menu focuses on wholesome, comforting brunch dishes made with fresh ingredients, including beautifully presented avocado toasts, hearty soup bowls, and refreshing seasonal fruit open sandwiches that taste just as lovely as they look.

A Quick Pro-Tip: OATT also has a charming little outdoor terrace section! Although it was a bit too warm for me to sit out there during my visit—meaning I couldn’t snap any photos for you this time—I highly recommend securing a spot on the terrace during perfect, breezy spring or autumn days. It is the ultimate spot to enjoy the open air and a slow cup of coffee!

Part 6. The Perfect Al Fresco Date: “Friends & Yard” (Seongsu Station Area)

Our grand finale is a place that captures the absolute essence of a sunny European terrace: Friends & Yard.

This spot is famously loved for its breathtaking, leafy outdoor patio that instantly makes you feel like you’ve been whisked away to a chic sidewalk cafe in Paris or London. Because it is incredibly popular, the waitlist can build up quite fast. If you want to secure one of those highly coveted terrace seats, I highly recommend arriving before 11:30 AM!

Their culinary lineup is just as delightful as the ambiance. They serve beautiful, light European-style brunch dishes, ranging from savory mushroom tarts and fresh green basil pastas to warm, comforting shakshuka and stacked pancakes.

I actually visited here with my husband for a quick weekday lunch. Even though we only had a short break from our busy schedules, sitting out on that beautiful terrace instantly turned a simple lunch into a romantic weekend date night vibe! It’s the perfect place to inject a little slice of vacation magic into your ordinary routine.

Find Your Perfect Seongsu Weekend

Whether you want to dress up for a luxury New York-style morning at Sadelle’s, find solo visual healing at Mealcafe Oeuf, or share a romantic outdoor meal at Friends & Yard, there is a perfect corner waiting to give you that much-needed vacation serenity.

I hope you all have a deeply relaxing, delicious, and joyful long weekend! Go grab a warm cup of coffee, treat yourself to a wonderful brunch, and enjoy every single second of this beautiful holiday.
